Recently, the world's first roll of 590 MPa low-density hot-dip galvanized cold-rolled high-strength automotive steel rolled off the production line at Ansteel Co., Ltd. This not only marks a major breakthrough in the production of low-density hot-dip galvanized high-strength steel at Ansteel, but also injects new impetus into the lightweight development of the automotive industry.
Lightweighting of automotive materials is the key to energy conservation and emission reduction in the automotive industry. Based on this, Ansteel Co., Ltd. focuses on the research and development of automotive steel products with the dual advantages of lightweight and corrosion resistance. Since this type of material contains a high level of light alloy elements, the high oxidation of alloy elements during the hot-dip galvanizing process poses a great challenge to the surface quality control of the coating. To this end, Ansteel Co., Ltd. established a sales, research and production integration project team. With the cooperation of technical personnel at both the site and the market, it has successively overcome a series of process and technical difficulties and successfully realized the industrial production of 590 MPa low-density hot-dip galvanized cold-rolled high-strength automotive steel. This product not only has the characteristics of high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, but also its low density characteristics help automobile manufacturers design automotive parts with better performance, lighter weight and longer life.
The successful launch of this product has also further promoted the close cooperation between Ansteel and China FAW. Based on the product characteristics of low-density materials, the two parties jointly carried out the selection of test parts and stamping experiments. By adjusting the stamping process, they successfully completed the production of the first hot-dip galvanized low-density cold-stamped parts in China, with good stamping results.
